Close by, along road nr. 1 is Baulan, a small petrol station and shop, that also has a restaurant and sells most necessities. In Borgarfjörður, you don't want to miss Reykholt, Deildartunguhver hot spring, and the lava waterfall Hraunfossar. Further deep into the fjord you will find caves around Húsafell, for example, Víðgelmir, the largest and most spectacular lava tunnel in Iceland.

»Ok house but not great. Had Some cracks throug witch the midges kept coming in. Some stuff was a bit worn down, such as the cords for the curtains and Some utensils in the kitchen. Parking is not next to the house, had to drag our stuff around a bit from the car. The view from the house is beautiful. Couches and beds are good. Lots of cleaning surpplys, good washing machine. Had trouble finding the spot to bring the garbage to and had problems with the keybox.«
