Víðilundur cottage has a truly idyllic location. The house is surrounded by trees at a small creek, close to nearby lake Álftavatn in the popular holiday home area of the Icelanders, Grímsnes, South Iceland, and is therefore very close to everyday needs, such as supermarkets, swimming pools and gas stations. This location is excellent for day tours to the Golden Circle, for a South Shore Adventure or even a peek into the Highland of Iceland. For hike lovers, there are plenty of small paths and mountains to walk.
The three-bedroom house can sleep up to 8 people. The kitchen has both a gas stove and a microwave. The living room has a beautiful fireplace excellent to fire up if you are visiting Víðilundur in the wintertime. It also has a radio/CD. Bathroom: WC/shower.
The terrace has 45 sqm where you can enjoy a delicious BBQ on the gas grill. It has, of course, a garden table and chairs.
The parking place is just in front of the house.

Grímsnes is a popular vacation house area in South Iceland. The Municipality of Grímsnes- og Grafningshreppur was formed in 1998 by merging the two areas. The main settlement is Sólheimar with ca 100 inhabitants, an eco-village known for its ecological, artistic, and international community ethics. Grímsnes is a great location for excursions in South Iceland. It is on the popular Golden Circle route and from there it is only 40 km to Geysir and 50 km to Gullfoss.
