Seljaland is a cosy, classical Icelandic cabin in a great location, close to the lake Laugarvatn in South Iceland.

The location of the house is perfect for excursions in South Iceland, to Thingvellir, Gullfoss and Geysir and along the South coast. The next town is Selfoss (40km), where you'll find supermarkets, shops and restaurants. Very close by is Laugarvatn, with a small shop, gas station and a lovely outdoor swimming pool.

The house has two bedrooms and a sleeping area in the attic. The living room has a kitchen corner with a microwave, along with other necessary equipment. TV, DVD, radio. A washing machine is at your disposal.

On the veranda you'll find a gas BBQ and a hot pot, to unwind after a busy day out. Parking.

Laugarvatn is situated in the area Árnessýsla, along the shore of the shallow lake Laugarvatn. The small community with ca 200 inhabitants was originally formed around the boarding school there. Nowadays it is now best known for being a detour on the Golden Circle. It is a popular stop for travellers as it is located near many of Iceland's top attractions like Thingvellir national park, Geysir, Gullfoss waterfall and Skálholt bishop seat. Apavatn is a bigger lake just 2 km south of lake Laugarvatn

In Laugarvatn you can find all basic services like a small grocery store, restaurants, gas station, swimming pool, sauna, horse rental and a golf course. The shores of the lake have several geothermal hot springs. You can also hire a boat to go on the lake.

And I really need a pancake pan like that too. Our visit to Iceland started on June 30th and we drove over the west, north (Myvatn), east, south coast to the Golden Circle. Suddenly there were far too many people at the sights for us. Nevertheless they are powerful places (Geysir, Gullfoss, ...) Your country is beautiful. Try to keep it like it is. We'll come back. «
