Enjoy this beautiful, classic Icelandic summerhouse, in the South Iceland region Grímsnes. This house offers you a splendid view over the salmon river Sog and stands close to the beautiful 534 m high extinct volcano Búrfell. Óskasteinn has proximity to a few shopping facilities, and there is a gas station and a restaurant nearby.

Óskasteinn has two bedrooms and an attic with a balcony overseeing the living room. The kitchen that has a microwave and a dishwasher and the dining area is a part of the living room. There you will find a TV, radio/CD, a DVD player and WIFI. Bathroom: WC/shower.

The large terrace that has both garden furniture and gas grill goes along two sides of the house, from which there is access to the hot tub area and the utility storage.

Grímsnes is a popular vacation house area in South Iceland. The Municipality of Grímsnes- og Grafningshreppur was formed in 1998 by merging the two areas. The main settlement is Sólheimar with ca 100 inhabitants, an eco-village known for its ecological, artistic, and international community ethics. Grímsnes is a great location for excursions in South Iceland. It is on the popular Golden Circle route and from there it is only 40 km to Geysir and 50 km to Gullfoss.

Grímsnes is ca 25 km east of Selfoss, the largest town in South Iceland on the banks of the Ölfusá river. The town is a centre of commerce and small industries with a population of ca 8.000. There are many shops, restaurants, supermarkets and an outdoor geothermal swimming pool.
