Langanes is 10 km south of Hella, a small town along road nr. 1. Hella is a frequently travelled through town by everyone going south. Here you find all basic services such as a bigger supermarket, gas station, restaurants, golf course, swimming pool and a health center.
The small village of Hvolsvöllur is only 10 minutes south of Hella and has a gas station, coffee house and a small supermarket, as well as a swimming pool. You can also find the Lava Center and the Saga Center with its unique Njáls Saga exhibition in Hvolsvöllur.
