The small village Reykholt started in the first half of the 20th century, when geothermal activity was discovered in the area. There are several greenhouses and horticultural farms in the region, as well as a grocery store, gas station, swimming pool, horse-shows and greenhouse visits.
Reykholt is ca 30 km east of Selfoss, the largest town in South Iceland on the banks of the Ölfusá river. The town is a centre of commerce and small industries with a population of ca 8.000. There are many shops, restaurants, supermarkets and an outdoor geothermal swimming pool.

What guests are saying
Brigitte & Johann»We had a fascinating week in your impressive summerhouse«
Monika, Birte and Ines from Innsbruck»We are 3 middle-aged women and we felt very comfortable in the house with a lot of space and a beautiful view. Unfortunately, the northern lights let us down. Since we are unfortunately not northerners, the "hot pot" was too cold for us. Despite that, we enjoyed the days very much. «

Andrea, Thomas, Marlene and Louise from Germany»Dear family, we had a great time here in Iceland and of course your house. The view and the hot tub and all these furniture are great. The weather was interesting to. It was windy, cloudy, sunny, rainy...but we saw a lot of sites and fantastic places. After a long day we knew: "here we can hang out and sleep well"! Thank you soooo much! A nice summer! «
